The Bradford White ICON System® is a smart gas control system. It uses a special device called a thermopile to turn heat into electricity, which powers the gas valve and a small computer (microprocessor). The best part is, it doesn’t need any outside power source to work.
Defender Safety System®
The Bradford White Atmospheric Vent gas water heater has a special safety feature called the Defender Safety System®. It uses a unique design called Advanced ScreenLok® Technology to create a flame arrestor. This flame arrestor helps stop dangerous flames from escaping outside the water heater, preventing the ignition of any nearby flammable vapors.
Hydrojet® Total Performance System
The Hydrojet® Total Performance System is a sediment-reducing device that boosts the first hour rating of hot water and helps prevent temperature build-up in the tank.
Vitraglas® Tank With Microban® Lining
The Vitraglas® Lining with Microban® is a specially engineered enamel that protects the tank from corrosion, while Microban® antimicrobial protection helps prevent the growth of bacteria, mold, and mildew on the surface of the tank lining.
Protective Anode
Rod
The Protective Anode Rod helps prevent tank corrosion by attracting damaging elements in the water, extending the life of your water heater.
3" x 4" “Snap Lock” Draft Diverter
The water heater has a “Snap Lock” Draft Diverter that can fit either 3-inch or 4-inch vent connections if the heater’s output is 40,000 BTU per hour or less. If it’s over 40,000 BTU per hour, it uses the 4-inch vent.
T&P Relief
Valve
The T&P (Temperature and Pressure) Relief Valve is pre-installed for safety, automatically releasing excess temperature or pressure to prevent damage to the water heater, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
Low Restrictive Brass Drain Valve
The Bradford White atmospheric gas water heater has a special Low Restrictive Brass Drain Valve. This valve is made of durable brass and is designed to be tamper-proof, meaning it’s hard to damage or open unintentionally. It also allows water to drain easily with less restriction, making maintenance smoother.
Water Connections - ¾" NPT
The water connections feature 3/4″ (19mm) NPT factory-installed true dielectric fittings to extend the water heater’s life and simplify water line connections.
